Nickolas Bartel is an environmental policy analyst with research experience in climate communication. He uses his science, policy, and community engagement background to research, analyze, and present environmental policy solutions designed for audiences of all backgrounds.

Worked with the Allegheny County Department of Sustainability, Pittsburgh Regional Transit, and the City of Pittsburgh to transition their fleets to renewable diesel, reducing CO2e emissions by 92% compared to traditional diesel

Developed sustainability events attended by hundreds, educating about the local impact and individual agency

Led and presented research at conferences internationally on how we can effectively engage climate denialism and how climate change views impact where Americans want their electricity to come from

He is on track to complete his Master of Public Policy & Management degree from Carnegie Mellon University in May 2025, and he is looking forward to taking what he has learned as he continues his work in this field.
